8th International Symposium on History of English Lexicography and Lexicology 

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that registration for HEL-LEX 8 is now open. The deadline is on 29 May 2025, at 11:59 PM (EET).
We are also happy to share that a provisional programme is now available, giving an overview of the keynote lectures, regular sessions and social events we have planned.

Important notice: We are aware of a technical glitch affecting some registration confirmations. In addition to the official confirmation email, you may receive either three empty emails from the same address or one email containing only HTML code. We apologize for the inconvenience and are actively working to resolve this issue. Your registration is still valid despite this error.

For your convenience, all information regarding registration, the conference location, keynote speakers, the social programme, travel and accommodation is available on the current website.

HEL-LEX 8 Organising Committee

HEL-LEX 8 will explore a broad range of topics related to the historical English lexicography, lexicology, and historical semantics.

 

Confirmed keynote speakers are:

• Prof. Em. Charlotte Brewer (University of Oxford)
• Prof. Dr. Alexander Bergs (University of Osnabrück)
• Prof. Carole Hough (University of Glasgow)

The programme committee invites submissions of abstracts (docx, rtf, or PDF formats) for peer review. The length of the abstracts is ca. 400 words, excluding bibliography. Abstracts should be anonymised and submitted as attachments. In the body of the e-mail include:
- Title of the paper
- Your full name, title, and professional affiliation
- Address, phone number, and preferred e-mail address.
